Our distinguished Non-Executive Director, John Lewis, is the next up in our ‘Take Five’ series.
John is a celebrated entrepreneur recognised for his innovative approach in kitchen and furniture design. Founding his company in 1972, Lewis transformed traditional craftsmanship by introducing bespoke, high-quality, and stylish kitchen furniture. Notably, he introduced both the fielded panel and shaker door styles. His emphasis on attention to detail, quality, value, and commitment to excellence set his business apart. He established John Lewis of Hungerford as a leader in the bespoke kitchen market, with television appearances and celebrities a regular occurrence. He was able to successfully reinvent the business during the recession of the nineties, which then led to a stock market flotation. His success is marked by a blend of creativity, quality, and a keen commercial understanding of customer needs.
